Seaver

The Connection
The Seaver family joined the Twichell family in two marriages. That of Lemuel Twichell and Esther Seaver. Also, the marriage of Samuel Twichell and Keziah Seaver. Two brothers married two sisters. Then, one of the children of Esther Seaver, Royal Twichell, married Ruth Field. From that marriage came a number of children. One of these was Lois Twichell. Lois married George Blackwell in 1863 in Anoka, MN.
That is the connection.

Note: It appears that both Nicholas and his wife Susanna had previous marriages. According to IGI - Nicholas was married to a Sarah Warren on 21 Nov 1728.in Kingston, Plymouth, MA. Sarah was born on 27 May 1692 in Roxbury, Suffolk, MA. She died on 25 Aug 1756 Kingston, MA. However, before she married Nicholas, she was married to Charles Little on 9 Oct 1712 in Plymouth, MA. Sarah and Charles had 10 children. It seems they had all 10 children in 16 years. Nicholas obviously raised these children with Sarah. According to IGI - Susanna was married prior to 21 Sep 1757 to a Mr. Lyman   The same report says that she was married to a Mr. Winslow before 21 Sep 1757.
I can not locate any children of Nicholas Seaver at this time.

Note: It has been suggested that Peter married a relative and is then listed with the same last name. This is not that uncommon in those days as necessity was an important part of marriage as well as emotion. Both Peter and Hannah died in their mid to late 40s. (according to this information) Another explanation for this is that Hannah's last name was unknown to a researcher and when recorded, it was done so with her married name rather than her maiden name.   Inspite of that, I am under the belief that it was, in fact, a relative and there was intermarriage. Also note the death date for Hannah Seaver. This is incorrect of course and is only used because we know that Peter married Mary Webb on 9 Apr 1758. Obviously, Hannah had to have passed on prior to that time. The confusing part of all of this is the death date of Peter himself. He is shown as having died in 1755. That can not be correct if he married Mary in 1758. I believe we have the dates incorrectly copied. I suggest that possibly Hannah died in 1755 and Peter remarried in 1758 with his real death date is unknown.   This requires more information and I will follow up on that.

It is believed they were all born in Framingham, MA.

Note: Jonathan Belcher was born about 1703 in Framingham, MA. and died in 1787 at age 80. (as recorded) You will note that 1703 + 80 equals 1783 not 1787. I guess they did math different back then. However, we will stay with 1787 as that is a matter of the written record and age 80 is a family members guess possibly. It could also be an error in the date of birth. It does say "about". If that is the problem, his real birth date is 1707. This is probably the more likely scenario.
